Let’s be honest. We, home brewers all have humble beginnings when it comes to our home breweries. Maybe we buy a 5-gallon cooler from a hardware store to use as a mash tun, the shiniest 7.5-gallon kettle we can find, a 5-gallon plastic bucket is the fermenter, and MAYBE a glass carboy will be our secondary fermenter. Does it sound familiar?
Then we brew a few batches and the beer turns out pretty good. Not freaking amazing, but good. Maybe we enter our first homebrewing competition and get the first REAL HONEST feedback. Every batch after that is tasted with that “more critical” palate.
We start wondering why our brews are not turning out spot on. Then we start researching about temperature control, brewing efficiency, contamination, oxygen, CO2 and the list goes on. That’s when you realize you could use a few upgrades on your brew system. Then the research begins!
Ok. That’s starting to sound like a memoir. But that story is what inspired me to start researching more efficient home breweries, electric brewing vs gas brewing, 2 kettles vs 3 kettles set up, where to start investing in my home brewery and the list goes on. That’s also when I started coming across all these state-of-the-art home breweries and I was like “really???” I was more inspired than anything.
That’s when I started collecting photos of all different home brewery set ups I could find.
Home brewers are DIYers at heart, am I wrong? And to me, all the photos below are do-able for a DIYer, all we need is the right equipment, am I right?
Let’s stop with all the talking and get started. Time to get inspired by these 24 home breweries!!!
