The Idea Behind Brewer’s Tools of the Trade
Here at Kegs & Code we are total geeks! We like pen & paper, we like electronics, and above all, we love craft beer. When we decided to create our first piece of apparel we thought: how can we make this unique and only appeal to a very select type of craft beer enthusiast? As usual, it took weeks to answer this question but just the fact that the question was asked, we knew we would find an answer; and we did! What if we can add all the elements of a typical brew day to a t-shirt? That was it! We started noting everything we were using from water to hydrometers and fermenters.
Since brewing beer has been around for thousands of years, we wanted the “theme” to sound retro and old… what’s old? tools are… the trade itself is… tools of the trade.
Just to make sure we were on the right track, we looked up the definition of tools of the trade and found “The tools of your trade or the tools of the trade are the skills, instruments, and other equipment that you need in order to do your job properly.” How geek is that?? We hope you enjoy your craft beer tee as much as we have enjoyed creating them 🙂
